Do you celebrate St. Nick’s Day? Children leave out their shoes the night before, and St. Nick fills them with candy or small presents on December 6. The tradition commemorates St. Nicholas of Myra, a fourth-century bishop who inspired the modern Santa Claus. While more prevalent in Europe, St. Nick’s Day celebrations took root in U.S. cities with German heritages such as Milwaukee, Cincinnati, and St. Louis.

I woke up to wrapped gifts from St. Nick in my shoes. I received a travel mug that fits perfectly under our Senseo single serve coffee machine. In my other shoe were six Java Cookies in cappuccino and x-treme espresso flavors from Coffaro’s.
