Gift Giving Guy

Hot coffee and hot topics go together. For Christmas, I gave Disappearing Civil Liberties Mugs to my two left-leaning, satire-loving office mates. Each mug lists the complete text of the U.S. Bill of Rights — until you pour in a piping hot beverage. Then watch as each civil liberty fades away, leaving only the right to bear arms and the Takings Clause. Be sure to hand wash these mugs in warm water. The dishwasher will permanently wipe out all ten amendments.

I also tapped each of their Amazon.com Wish Lists, sorting the lists by priority to help choose gifts. I selected one hardcover book for each: Dean Wareham’s Black Postcards: A Rock & Roll Romance and John Hodgman’s More Information Than You Require. Likewise, the books are non-dishwasher safe.
