New Anniversary Gift Guide at gifts.com
The Gift Gurus at gifts.com posted a new anniversary giving guide today based on the traditional and modern guidelines. The guide links into gifts.com suggestions from across the Web for five milestone anniversaries:
- 1st anniversary (paper as traditional, clocks as modern)
- 5th anniversary (wood as traditional, silverware as modern)
- 10th anniversary (tin or aluminum as traditional, diamond jewelry as modern)
- 25th anniversary (silver as traditional, silver as modern)
- 50th anniversary (gold as traditional, gold as modern)
You can always find creative ways to make connections to the traditional or modern gift themes. For our sixth anniversary, I gave my wife a trip to Hawaii, the place we spent our honeymoon. The trip was three months away, so I made a DVD inviting her to the islands with beautiful photos of Maui and Kauai. But I also wanted to link her present to the traditional sixth anniversary gift of candy or iron. (Okay, iron wasn’t even considered.) I chose candy and gave her Mauna Loa chocolate-covered macadamia nuts.
